Company Sport - Independent University Groups

Volleyballspiel in einer Sporthalle Volleyballspiel in einer Sporthalle Volleyballspiel in einer Sporthalle

The Zentrum für Hochschulsport (ZfH) gives students and university members within their institute or student initiative/organisation (e.g. Indonesian students, etc.) the opportunity to do sports together and thus to promote social interaction and exchange among each other as well as to create a balance of movement for everyday study or work.

WHO IS ENTITLED TO APPLY FOR AN INDEPENDENT UNIVERSITY GROUP?

Institutes of the Leibniz University as well as the co-operating universities, student councils, faculties, student residences of the Studentenwerk, student initiatives/student associations registered with the university management.

WHICH HALLS AND TIMES ARE AVAILABLE?

The ZfH provides the following sports facilities: Hall 1, Hall 2, gymnastics room, beach court, small natural grass field (in the summer semester).

Priority in the allocation of sports facilities is given to learner-oriented courses and open practice groups in which all members of the university can participate. This means that the university groups, which are responsible for their own activities, are more likely to be available at off-peak times. These times will be allocated according to the open university sports program and within the framework of free capacities. The free capacities are usually marginal times such as 3 or 10 p.m. on weekdays and between 10 and 8 p.m. on weekends. During the semester break, the general sports program is reduced, so that other times are also available.

Primarily, the Zfh rents its sport facilities on the weekends. That is the reason why some offers could be cancelled. Nevertheless we ensure a minimum of 8 dates per group.

HOW AND WHERE IS THE ALLOCATION OF SPORTS TIME?

Applications are made by the contact person designated for the semester using the completed form.

The following deadlines apply to the individual periods:

  • 15.1. for the lecture-free period WiSe
  • 15.3. for the SoSe
  • 15.6. for the lecture-free period SoSe
  • 15.9. for the WiSe

The minimum number of 14 participants must be reached at the latest 7 days after the start of the program, otherwise the group will be cancelled. (The fee will then not be collected).

INDEPENDENT UNIVERSITY GROUPS ARE INCLUDED IN THE ADDITIONAL OFFER

The independent university groups are part of the Hochschulsport’s additional offer and are therefore subject to registration and payment: students 10,-€/employees 15,-€. The participation of max. 20% alumnis is possible. They must also register for the event (20,-€).

In order to ensure an adequate hall occupancy, the minimum number of participants must be 14 persons.

HOW DO PARTICIPANTS REGISTER?

Participants can register online with a password, which will be given to the contact person. The minimum number of 14 participants must be reached no later than 7 days after the start of the program, otherwise the group will be removed from the program and the hall time will be allocated elsewhere.

At the service counter your identity cards will be checked.

OUR AIM

We expect all groups to publish their sports times accordingly within their institution so that as many people as possible can benefit. Our goal is to institutionalise a company sport that contributes to a positive working atmosphere within the facilities.

The times of the independent university groups are published in the general sports program.
