FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS CONCERNING HOCHSCHULSPORT

At Zentrum für Hochschulsport, only students and university employees may currently participate in the sports program. While on SportCAMPUS, everyone has to adhere to strict hygiene and behavioral guidelines. The health and well-being of everyone on SportCAMPUS takes top priority for us, which is why we currently offer an adapted class program.  

QUESTIONS ABOUT HOCHSCHULSPORT IN GENERAL

  • Who may currently participate at Hochschulsport?

    Classes and facilities that have been cleared for use may only be booked by students and employees of Leibniz University and our partner universities. Guests may not enter SportCAMPUS or participate in classes until further notice.

  • Are safety measures and hygiene guidelines in place at SportCAMPUS?

    Yes. We're taking the pandemic extremely seriously while trying to make safe exercising options accesible to everyone. We need everyone coming to SportCAMPUS to help us in our endeavour by adhering to our behavioural and hygiene guidelines.

  • Is a Semestercard (Semesterkarte) currently needed for participation?

    IS A SEMESTERCARD (SEMESTERKARTE) CURRENTLY NEEDED FOR PARTICIPATION?

    No. We have decided to waive the semester fees due to the financially precarious situation many students find themselves in during the pandemic. Booking a Semestercard is currently not a requirement for participation - however, a valid registration for a every class you would like to take is mandatory.

  • What does "Basisangebot" mean?

    WHAT DOES "BASISANGEBOT" (BASIC OFFER) MEAN?

    Classes marked "Basisangebot" are free of charge. Basisangebot classes have to be signed up for individually. "Details" shows the classification of the respective course. If it's in Basisangebot, "Preis" will show "entgeltfrei" (free of charge). A one-time registration is valid over the course of the advertised duration. A confirmation mail is sent after successful registration which doubles as an registration confirmation.

  • What does "Zusatzangebot" mean?

    WHAT DOES "ZUSATZANGEBOT" MEAN?

    Classes marked "Zusatzangebot" are subject to a charge. Every class needs to be signed up for individually. "Details" shows the classification of the respective course. "Preis" shows the applicable one-time fee for each status group (students/employees). A one-time registration for a class is valid over the advertised duration.

    A confirmation email is sent after succesful registration which doubles as your registration confirmation.

  • Is a valid FitCard currently needed to participate in group fitness classes?

     No. We have decided to waive the FitCard fees due to the financially precarious situation many students find themselves in during the pandemic. However, signing up for each class you would like to take is mandatory. You may sign up from 7am each respective day of the class. 

  • Do I need to sign up online?

    Yes. An prior registration is essential and may only be made via Sportarten A - Z. You may not enter SportCAMPUS without a valid registration. Servicepoint and Hochschulsportbüro are currently unavailable for in-person registration.

    We will gladly answer any questions via phone, via email (info@hochschulsport-hannover.de) or our social media accounts on facebook and instagram.

  • How do I reserve a spot in a group fitness class?

    The reservation period to claim a spot in fitness classes that limit the number of participants starts on the respective day of the class at 7am.

    Find your class via Sports A - Z.

    Spots are allocated via first-come-first-serve. Popular courses fill up quickly, so make sure to set an alarm!  

    You will find a red "Warteliste" button instead of the "Buchen" one. By clicking you may sign up for the waiting list. You will be informed if a spot in your class opens, but you will need to claim it yourself - you don't move up the list automatically.

    Please note: Cancel your spot if you change your mind! This ensures fairness between you and everyone else.

  • WHAT DO I HAVE TO CONSIDER WHEN CHECKING IN?

    Every person coming to SportCAMPUS (weekdays 4pm - 11pm, weekends 10am-8pm) is subject to a security check.

    This ensures that all rules and regualtions are observed and in turn heightens security on CAMPUS to make your stay at SportCAMPUS as carefree as possible.

    Please make sure to bring:

    • your student ID / employee ID
    • registration confirmation either as print-out or e-ticket

    All your bookings may be saved to your student ID or library card, which speeds up checking times immensely. Print outs and e-tickets are only valid in combination with a valid ID!

    We also check for CAMPUSFit membership.

    IMPORTANT: Masks or face coverings are mandatory in all buildings of Leibniz University, icluding SportCAMPUS!

  • HOW DO I PAY THE REGISTRATION FEES?

    All course and membership fee will be debited from your account via SEPA direct debit. During the booking process, you will need to specify your IBAN and confirm that you agree to the SEPA Direct Debit procedure.

  • IS THERE A FREE TRIAL PERIOD?

    We are currently unable to offer any trial periods or events.

  • Can I use the facilities at SportCAMPUS at my own leisure?

    The following facilities are cleared for individual use: tennis courts, beach courts, basketball court, both tracks and outdoor rack.

    A prior online registration is essential for contact tracing. Guests may not currently use our outdoor facilities. Guests also may not accompany you to your workout.

    A timeslot for your workout on our outdoor facilities may be booked here.

  • Can I bring a guest to play tennis or to a dance class?

    No. Guests are currently not permitted on SportCAMPUS, which is why you may not bring a guest to a tennis match or dance class.

  • I HAVE QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS. WHO DO I APPROACH?

    You may always approach the service staff with questions or concerns during opening hours. Additionally, you may send an email to info@hochschulsport-hannover.de or call 0511 762 2192. If we cannot adress your concern immediately, we will forward it to the appropriate person.
