WHAT IS THE SEMESTERCARD?

In order to participate in basic or additional offers, you need to book the fee-based semester card. Owning a semester card means that you can participate without any additional registration in all courses which are basic offers (only for students and employees). Furthermore, the semester card is prerequisite for courses which are additional offers.

The semester card price depends on your status (one-off payment once per semester):

StatusStudentEmployeeGuests/Alumni
Price12,00 €15,00 €18,00 €

The Semestercard is NOT:

  • your student ID
  • your library card (Hobsy-card)

After booking is completed, you will receive a confirmation via email that doubles as your entrance ticket. Please have this document ready (either as a print-out or on your phone) to show the receptionists at check-in.

You do NOT need the Semestercard if:

  • you would like to book/have already booked a FitCard
  • you are a member of CAMPUSFit
  • you have a subscription to KletterCAMPUS

WHAT IS THE BASIC OFFER?

The basic offer includes over 100 courses, in which you can participate without any additional registration. In order to participate in the courses of the basic offer, you need to book the digital semester card once per semester. All basic offer courses are included in the semester card – an additional registration in each course is not necessary. Guests cannot participate in basic offer courses.

Due to the current situation, we do not make the distinction between courses on offer. All courses may currently be joined free of charge without booking either a Semestercard or a Fitcard.

Where you'd usually find a green "buchen" button, you will now encounter "siehe Text". In the text above, you are reminded to book a semestercard or FitCard before joining the class. Please book either of those options before coming to SportCAMPUS. The courses in the basic offer do not require additional registration.

WHAT IS THE ADDITIONAL OFFER?

Courses of the additional offer need to be booked individually. Each class is subject to a fee. After booking the semestercard, you may book a course of the additional offer. The additional offer is available to students, employees and guests.

Booking the courses of the additional offer online looks like this:

Under "Details" you will find the respective classification of the course. "Preis" shows the one-off fee the course is subject to (according to your status). You may book the course directly via the green "buchen" button.

Please make sure you have booked the semestercard before signing up for a class! If you haven't, the "buchen" button will take you directly to the semestercard booking page.

After you have booked you preferred class, you will receive a confirmation via email. This doubles as you admission ticket at check-in.

WHAT IS THE FITCARD?

The FitCard grants admission to all our group-fitness classes. You may find all our group-fitness classes listed on the schedule (updated weekly) on our start page.

The FitCard is a subscription for either 3, 6 or 12 months. You do not have to sign up for each individual group fitness class - join whenever you'd like!

Please note: Classes that require equipment or limit the number of particpants require a prior reservation, see question 6.

The FitCard is subject to a fee which will be debited from your account monthly.

ARE THE FITCARD AND CAMPUSFITCARD THE SAME?

No, the FitCard is not the CAMPUSFitcard and vice versa. You may not join the gym if you are only in possession of a FitCard. The CAMPUSFit however offers a PREMIUM membership that includes all group-fitness courses, meaning you may train in the gym as well as joing group fitness classes, see: CAMPUSFit Membership Options

HOW DO I RESERVE A TOKEN FOR GROUP-FITNESS CLASSES?

The reservation period to claim a spot in fitness classes that limit the number of participants starts on the respective day of the class at 7am.

Find your class via Sports A - Z:

Bei freien Chips sieht man einen grünen Buchen button Bei freien Chips sieht man einen grünen Buchen button Bei freien Chips sieht man einen grünen Buchen button

Click the green "buchen" button to go claim your spot. Please make sure you own a valid FitCard before booking!

Chips are allocated via first-come-first-serve. Popular courses fill up quickly, so make sure to set an alarm!

If you've missed your chance, you will encounter the following:

Bei einem ausgebuchten Kurs sieht man einen roten Warteliste Butoon Bei einem ausgebuchten Kurs sieht man einen roten Warteliste Butoon Bei einem ausgebuchten Kurs sieht man einen roten Warteliste Butoon

You will find a red "Warteliste" button instead of the "Buchen" one. By clicking you may sign up for the waiting list. You will be informed if a spot in your class opens, but you will need to claim it yourself - you don't move up the list automatically.

Please note: Cancel your spot if you change your mind! This ensures fairness between you and everyone else.

You may pick up your token half an hour before class begins at check-in. Please be on time - tokens that have not been collected 15 minutes before class starts will be issued to walk-in participants.

CAN I SPONTANEOUSLY USE THE FACILITIES AT SPORTCAMPUS?

That depends on what you're planning to do! If you own a semestercard, you are free to use the basketball court, the ping pong tables, the tracks and the rack on our outdoor area.

If capacities allow, you may also book a session on the artifical turf soccer pitch, the tennis courts or the beach courts. Further details: Outdoor Court Online Rental

You may not use the outdoor facilities without prior reservation. This includes our natural turf soccer pitches. You may be asked to leave if we find you in violation of these rules.

I DON'T STUDY IN HANNOVER. CAN I STILL PARTICIPATE?

That depends on which university you're enrolled at. If you're enrolled at a university in the Hochschulsport Association Lower Saxony & Bremen (HVNB), you may register as a regular student. Check here to see if your university is part of HVNB.

If you are enrolled at a university outside of both Hannover and HVNB, you are considered a "guest" and will need to register as such. Unfortunately, this also means you may not participate in courses of the basic offer or the join the CAMPUSfit.

CAN I BRING GUESTS TO MY CLASS?

Only in courses where guests are expressly allowed i.e. courses of the additional offer or the FitCard. However, your guests will need to register beforehand (subject to a fee)!

Dance classes are an exception: you may register in tandem with a guest partner. Choose the status "externe Tanzpartner*in" for your guest during registration. Fees of semestercard and the specific dance class apply.

IS A DANCING PARTNER REQUIRED FOR DANCE CLASSES?

Unless expressly stated in the course description, you do not need a permanent dancing partner for most of our dance classes.

CAN I CANCEL MY FITCARD AT ANY TIME?

Unfortunately not. We offer short subscription terms to fit your individual schedule.

In case of medical problems we will decide on a case by case basis. If you are experiencing medical difficulties and wish to end your subscription prematurely, please send us an email (with applicable verification, ie doctor's note).

No other exceptions apply. See fee schedule.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY CLASS IS CANCELED?

All course cancelations are announced here: Class Cancelations

Cancelations on extremely short notice will be announced via bulletin. In classes that have mailing lists, the participants will be informed via mail. Put yourself on the mailing list if you would like to benefit from this service!

I HAVE QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS. WHO DO I APPROACH?

You may always approach the service staff with questions or concerns during opening hours. Additionally, you may send an email to info@hochschulsport-hannover.de or call 0511 762 2192. If we cannot adress your concern immediately, we will forward it to the appropriate person.
