DHM Judo: Successful placements for Hanover

Almost 400 judoka from 91 German universities competed against each other at the German University Sports Championship Judo in Potsdam on October 29 and 30. The University of Potsdam hosted the competitions in the MBS Arena. The team of judges consisted of four vice presidents of the German Judo Federation as well as the Olympic bronze medalist from Tokyo Igor Wandtke.

The student judoka competed in exciting matches and thus made a successful comeback after a break of more than 2 years due to the pandemic. The participants from Hanover were also represented with a large team on site and did a great job with the following results in the individual ranking:

1st place -73kg, men: Sebastian Hofäcker (LUH).
2nd place -70kg, women: Jasmin Neuhold (MHH)
3rd place -63kg, women: Marie Klose (LUH)
3rd place -60kg, men: Christian Gnegel (LUH)
3rd place -66kg, men: Liam Hermann (LUH)

The Hanover team also secured 3rd place in both the women's and men's Newcomer Cups. In addition, Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH) landed in 1st place in the team competition. The 2nd place was given to the University of Potsdam and the 3rd place to the Police Academy of Lower Saxony.
