Take part and save 500 trees

We need your support. Participating is very easy.

With the Summitree Challenge, University Sports Department brings together exercise, sustainability and team spirit. Run, walk or bike diligently, track your kilometers and we will plant trees in return. The Challenge runs from Nov. 18 to Dec. 16, 2022, and every mile you log during that time brings us one step closer to our goal: planting a forest with 500 trees.

How does the participation work?

  1. Download the free Summitree app (AppleGoogle).
  2. Register in the app.
  3. Join the challenge with the code hochschulsporthannover.
  4. Record your movements between 18.11.-16.12.2022 with the help of the app.

You can see exactly how the registration works in the video.

By the way, behind the Summitree app is the Hannover start-up of the same name, which enables universities, companies and clubs to get involved in a greener and healthier world through physical activity. Movement and team spirit turn into climate protection. And best of all, everyone can take part.

Which achievement will result in a tree being planted?

That's easy - if you track the following activities during the campaign period, one tree will be planted for every

  • 20 kilometers  of running
  • 30 kilometers of hiking
  • 80 kilometers of cycling

The Summitree Challenge is THE opportunity to stay fit and do something together for a greener and healthier environment.
